CorvisaCloud's announcement of platform capabilities are what CEO Matt Lautz believes will set the company apart from the increasing number of cloud contact center solution providers. Lautz describes the CorvisaOne Platform as a combination of Twilio and a cloud contact center solution. In addition to having table-stakes telephony, ACD and IVR functionality (voice and SMS today, Web chat and email coming soon), it allows customers and developers to customize the operation of CorvisaCloud applications.

From a broader perspective, the notion of a "platform" that delivers customizable services is one that continued to be heard throughout 2014, from Unify's plans for its Circuit application, to Cisco's Fusion Platform supporting Project Squared to Avaya's platform play with the newly named Aura Engagement Development Platform, among others.
