Leveraging SMS to Boost Business

In Guy Clinch’s latest No Jitter podcast, Webtext CEO AJ Cahill talks about how SMS text messaging can help businesses improve customer satisfaction and boost employee efficiency.

AJ Cahill is known in the industry for having expertise in SMS text messaging for contact centers and the enterprise, Guy Clinch tells us in this edition of his No Jitter podcast. As co-founder and CEO of Webtext, he works with major vendors like Avaya and Cisco for text messaging.

In the podcast, Guy and AJ discuss how the company has been working to find innovative ways for organizations to use SMS to better serve their customers. This is done both directly and more indirectly by making company employees more efficient and enabling them to improve on key performance indicators.

AJ explains that SMS text is particularly important because, "quite simply, the common denominator with people nowadays globally is cell phones. The only two functions that work on every phone, whether it be a 4G, a 3G, a 2G ... is voice and SMS. Voice has been taken care of for years, while SMS has just been neglected."

AJ goes on to discuss that people are using all sorts of messaging apps today, but these don't apps don't all work together -- and that's why SMS is so vital. "SMS is ubiquitous; no app needed. It works everywhere," AJ says.
