Fluke Networks: End-to-End Application Aware Network Performance

Editor's note: Matt Brunk is the author of this piece. Earlier versions misidentified the post's author.

Network management may be unexciting for some, but it still reigns as a $14 billion market--and Fluke Networks parent company, Danaher, has captured a $4 billion piece of the pie. Fluke Networks continues to evolve by providing top-to-bottom solutions for troubleshooting converged networks, which require more than just luck and disparate tools and tricks when it comes to identifying and then resolving network issues.

Fluke Networks announced that Visual TruView, an Application-Aware Network Performance Management solution (AANPM), and the OptiView XG, its network analysis tablet, have been integrated to provide an AANPM solution that is able to analyze the entire network infrastructure for complete performance visibility into applications delivered across cloud, carrier and enterprise networks.

Fluke Networks has focused their solution by targeting what's important:

• VoIP & UC
• End User Experience
• Automated Path Analysis
• Network Planning Capacity

For the network engineers, the 3 clicks required to drill down and isolate issues using Visual TruView eliminates finger pointing. Network managers are not overloaded and overwhelmed with multiple network tools, licenses and costs.

Network management requires reliable data to understand load and network performance. What really costs companies money is the classic move of throwing additional bandwidth at problems instead of identifying root causes and isolating culprits. Then, spending resources on just identifying key issues is another risk companies take when they don't use adequate onboard tools that quickly, easily and effectively pinpoint trouble.

Fluke Networks has combined its efforts with Visual TruView and OptiView to show availability, traffic, application performance and health of devices. Without this kind of holistic approach to managing converged networks, the gap in delivering always on and available services threatens the enterprise that can't afford disruption to operations, work flow and service delivery to internal users and customers.
