Adtran Jumps Into UC

Many businesses are aware of Adtran's prominence in DSLAMs and integrated access products, and some may also be aware that its product portfolio includes routers and LANs. More recently, Adtran introduced an IP-PBX that originally was designed to serve up to 50 users, but recently has been updated to serve up to 100 users. Two unique features are the ability (1.) to support SIP Trunk emulation of key system features and (2.) to monitor voice traffic performance in real time.More recently, the company has been working to expand its VOIP-related product lineup, and plans to introduce an IP PBX capable of supporting up to 2,000 users. Additionally, Adtran's UC server will provide UC features to TDM PBXs, or can be used to create an all-IP solution when bundled with its IP PBX.Both of these products are scheduled for introduction over the next few weeks.

Concurrently, These products are/will be sold and supported through Adtran's reseller and service provider partners.

These types of product announcements are especially important to customers who want to provide UC features to a multi-vendor PBX environment, and to existing PBX customers (such as those who use Nortel) who plan to migrate to IPT and who want to evaluate a wide range of vendors. Expect more information and analysis from No Jitter's contributors after these products have been officially launched.
