Sprint Wins Best of Enterprise Connect

This year's Best of Enterprise Connect winner, Sprint, for its Workplace-as-a-Service (WPaaS) offering, is evidence of an evolving model for enterprise communications and mobility -- a topic that has been discussed heavily at the 2015 event.

Mike Fitz, vice president of business solutions at Sprint, came on the keynote stage at Enterprise Connect 2015 to accept the award for the company:

The Best of Enterprise Connect Award is given to an exhibitor that a panel of judges determines has made the most significant technological advancements in enterprise communications and collaboration. Judges narrowed down a list of 40 entrants to six finalists : 8x8 Virtual Office Analytics, Acano Open, IBM Verse, Sprint Business WPaaS, Unify Circuit, and Vidyo VidyoMobile for Smart Glasses.

Sprint's WPaaS offering is unique in many notable ways, and No Jitter contributor Zeus Kerravala, founder and principal analyst with ZK Research, wrote up an excellent article earlier this week giving an in-depth look at the service.

WPaaS includes WAN connectivity, enterprise-grade managed Wi-Fi, enterprise-grade voice, SIP trunks, local and long-distance voice, online collaboration, audio and video conferencing, instant messaging, presence, MDM across all carriers, BYOD support for laptops, tablets and smartphones, and optional Sprint wireless plans.

While lists of features are great, sometimes videos can be better to explain a new offering. Take a look at this quick video to get a better sense of how Sprint is differentiating itself with WPaaS:

"We congratulate our best in show winner, Sprint, on the launch of Sprint Workplace-as-a-Service. This new offering represents innovative thinking about the evolving role of the service provider in enterprise networks," said Enterprise Connect Co-Chair and No Jitter Editor Eric Krapf. "Though we've yet to see its full capability, Sprint Workplace-as-a-Service promises collaboration, integration and interoperability."

"We are extremely honored and proud to be named best in show at Enterprise Connect," Fitz said. "Being selected as Best of Enterprise Connect validates our belief that Workplace-as-a-Service is not only innovative but has the potential to be very disruptive in the marketplace."

Congratulations to all our finalists, and to our winner, Sprint!
