Our Top Ten Items of 2009

Thought you might be interested in the top 10 items on No Jitter for 2009. Note that this list is by page views, which favors our long-form features over blog posts, which are only a single page. Still, I think it gives you a pretty accurate picture overall of what drove traffic on the site this past year (as of mid-December):

.) "Nortel: Migrating from Contingency Plan to Strategic Plan," Steve Leaden’s feature offering Nortel customers advice for dealing with the acquisition by Avaya.

.) "Avaya-Nortel Merger: Why It's Likely to Fail." This was a blog posted by me, but basically it was my cut-and-paste of a critical analysis of the deal that was sent to me by an unnamed industry analyst. Since this was a single-page blog entry, it was probably the most widely-viewed single item of the year, i.e., viewed by the highest number of people.

.) "Test Review Reveals Much Improvement in Microsoft OCS 2007 R2," a lab test feature article by Rob Smithers of Miercom.

.) "Open Source PBX is 18% of North America Market," John Malone/Eastern Management’s groundbreaking study.

.) "Cisco Mid-Year CPE Market Share Leader; Avaya and Nortel Retain Next Two Positions,” Allan Sulkin’s mid-year market scoreboard feature.

.) “Interview: Avaya CEO Kevin Kennedy," my pre-VoiceCon-Orlando extended Q&A with Kennedy.

.) "Interview with Joel Hackney of Nortel," another pre-VoiceCon-Orlando report, this one with the then-head of the Enterprise Solutions division, shortly after the bankruptcy filing and before the sale to Avaya.

.) "Gloomy Days for Enterprise Communications System Suppliers," Sulkin’s May feature on the awful 1Q numbers for the enterprise communications market.

.) "SIP Trunks: A Call To the Wild." This was Matt Brunk’s feature describing first-person experiences with the hottest technology of the year.

.) "Nortel: Let's Hope For The Best, But Plan For The Worst." This was a precursor to item #1, a feature that Steve Leaden wrote in April, helping customers plan for the uncertainties of the bankruptcy process and the then-unknown future prospects for Nortel.
