See, I Was Right

There are good comments, too, of which I think this person's was the best:

The real question is if you hosted your own site, how often would it crash? My guess is that would be alot more often than if you had Amazon host.

If you're an SMB, which is who this Amazon service is targeted at, the commenter is right. If you're an enterprise...well, that's your job, as IT, is to be better than the Internet and than a hosting provider. Which is why I say this "Big Switch" idea is a Big Oversimplification.

This is obviously a different uptime issue than my previous post; the customer-facing part of Internet-based businesses have to be open 24/7.
